Sysmex Expands and Relocates Production Base in Brazil

- Establishing a Robust Manufacturing Framework to Support Sustainable Growth in Central and South America -

Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; President: Kaoru Asano) is pleased to announce the relocation and expansion of its diagnostic reagent production facility in Brazil. This strategic move aims to strengthen the company’s long-term supply capabilities and support the continued growth of its business across Central and South America. The new site will feature the largest land area among Sysmex’s overseas facilities and will serve as a stable supply hub for the rapidly expanding Central and South American market.

Brazil, the largest economy and population center in Central and South America, is experiencing a surge in demand for healthcare services driven by economic growth. Despite this, per capita healthcare expenditure in Brazil remains only about one-sixth that of Japan, indicating significant potential for market expansion. With ongoing improvements in medical infrastructure and technological innovation, sustained growth in the diagnostics and testing sector is expected, particularly in Brazil.

Since commencing operations in 2000, Sysmex’s local subsidiary (currently Sysmex do Brasil Industria e Comercio Ltda.) has supplied diagnostic reagent products to the Central and South American market through local production. However, rising demand has necessitated an increase in production capacity.

To ensure stable product supply to the growing Central and South American market, Sysmex has decided to relocate and expand its existing diagnostic reagent production facility within Paraná State. The new site, spanning 52,300 square meters, will consolidate and house diagnostic reagent production, logistics, and technical service functions that are currently distributed across multiple locations.

Additionally, the new facility will enhance business continuity planning (BCP) capabilities, enabling rapid backup support in the event of disruptions at the U.S. diagnostic reagent production site.

Through these efforts, Sysmex aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and the advancement of regional healthcare. The company remains dedicated to delivering innovative and reliable diagnostic solutions that support the health and anshin (peace of mind) of people around the world.
