■ About “Platinum Kurumin Plus” Certification

The “Platinum Kurumin Plus” certification is awarded to companies that have received “Kurumin”* certification based on the Next Generation Act, and that provide a higher level of childcare support for employees while meeting given standards regarding support for balancing work and infertility treatment.
Established in conjunction with the 2022 amendment to the Next Generation Act, this system represents the highest level of certification available to companies that meet the standards of both “Platinum Kurumin” and “Plus.”

■ Sysmex Initiatives

Sysmex promotes “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” by creating a work environment where diverse talent can thrive and by providing equal opportunities. We implement fair hiring practices regardless of gender and are committed to developing female leaders. Furthermore, we are actively providing support for balancing work and childcare to create an environment where all employees can achieve a work-life balance.

Specifically, we have established a Global HR Policy and are introducing a job-based personnel system across our Group. Under this system, assignments are based on clearly defined job roles and personnel requirements, rather than on years of service. This means that even after giving birth or while raising children, employees can be appointed to positions based on their abilities and potential for the position, allowing them to flexibly shape their careers after returning to work. We also encourage independent career development by enabling employees to choose from a variety of career options based on their life events and values.

We have also introduced a “Smart Work System” for all employees, adopting a hybrid work style that allows employees to choose where and when they work based on their work content and lifestyle. By combining flextime, staggered working hours, and taking time off work, we are able to put flexible working styles into practice and promote work-life balance. Furthermore, we have introduced a variety of systems, including subsidizing the cost of infertility treatment, “Mebae (‘new buds’) Leave” to deal with infertility treatment and/or morning sickness, childcare and nursing care leave systems that exceed the legal requirements, the establishment of an in-house daycare center, and support for returning to work after childcare leave.

Going forward, we will continue to support employees in balancing work with childcare and fertility treatment, and aim to create an attractive workplace where everyone can work with peace of mind.

[Terminology]
*Companies that have formulated general employer action plans based on the Next Generation Act and that have achieved the goals set out in the plans and met certain standards are eligible to receive the “Kurumin” certification from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare as “childcare support companies.” Sysmex received “Kurumin” certification in 2011 and 2020.
