Innovation and Encouragement Prize for Invention at Kinki Local Commendation for Invention
hosted by Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.

The Local Commendation for Inventions is a historical commendation which has been around since 1921 for publicly honoring engineers, researchers, and developers who created excellent and practical inventions and designs, for the purpose of contributing to improvement of science and technology and promotion of regional industries through encouragement and growth of inventions in local regions.

Award Details
1 Title of the award: Chairman’s Prize from the Hyogo Institute of Invention and Innovation
  Title of awarded
invention:
Environmentally Friendly Specimen Analyzer Utilizing Concentrated
Washing Solution (Japanese Patent No. 6742086)
Awarded inventors: Ryuki Takagi, Yuji Wakamiya
Date of the award: November 13, 2025
  Description of
the invention:
This invention relates to a specimen analyzer that utilizes a concentrated
washing solution. The specimen analyzer in this invention dilutes the
concentrated washing solution for use as a washing solution. If a long
period of time passes before the diluted washing solution is used,
the washing solution may deteriorate, potentially requiring its disposal.
This invention optimizes the timing of dilution, ensuring that the washing
solution is consumed without a long period of time having passed after
dilution. This approach contributes to reducing the disposal of the
washing solution and contributes to a reduction in water consumption.
Furthermore, the use of a concentrated washing solution helps to
decrease the volume of washing solution transported, thereby
contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions associated with
transportation.

2 Title of the award: Encouragement Prize for Invention
  Title of awarded
invention:
Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time Reagent
(Japanese Patent No. 7153519)

Awarded inventors: Kohei Akatsuchi, Takahiko Bando, Naoki Yamamoto, Masako Aki
Date of the award: November 13, 2025
  Description of
the invention:
This invention relates to a measuring reagent for examining blood
coagulation functions. The test reagent in this invention is used for
measuring purposes such as screening for bleeding tendencies in
patients being tested, screening for protein (Lupus Anticoagulant)
that may cause blood disorders, and monitoring the efficacy of
anticoagulant drug (Heparin). This invention has achieved high
performance for all of these measuring purposes by preparing three
types of phospholipids at specific concentrations. This measuring
reagent is widely used in clinical practice and contributes to the care of
many patients.
