the test samples according to the type of blood products.
This invention enables the quality inspection of blood products,
previously performed by highly skilled operators, to be conducted easily
and automatically. Consequently, it allows for the rapid acquisition of
quality inspection results at blood product manufacturing facilities across
Japan, thereby contributing to the stable supply of safe blood products.

2 Title of the award: Encouragement Prize for Invention
  Title of awarded
invention:
Analyzer for Automating Platelet Aggregation Testing
(Japanese Patent No. 6768118)

Awarded inventors: Hiroshi Kurono, Tasuku Sakayori, Yuri Watanabe
  Description of
the invention:
This invention relates to an analyzer that automates platelet aggregation testing, which measures the progression of platelet aggregation.
This invention enables the analyzer to automatically dilute the reagent to
a specified concentration to prepare a diluent reagent solution, mix it
with the specimen to prepare a measurement sample, and automatically
perform the platelet aggregation test on the specimen.
This invention allows the preparation of the diluent reagent solution
and the measurement sample, tasks conventionally performed by the
operator, to be easily and automatically conducted. This reduces the
complexity and errors associated with platelet aggregation tests,
thereby expanding opportunities for diagnosis and treatment based on
these tests.
