Today, global environmental problems are a pressing challenge to realizing a sustainable society. The Paris Agreement, which was adopted in 2015 at the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21), calls for all countries and regions of the world to set targets for reducing CO2 emissions in order to prevent global warming, and mandated measures for reaching those targets. Furthermore, the United Nations adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, which set targets for addressing environmental issues and call for companies, as well as governments, to take on specific responsibilities.

Out of our sincere wish to build trust and confidence among all our stakeholders through the practice of the Sysmex Way (the corporate philosophy of the Sysmex Group), Sysmex aims to resolve various issues and problems that impact our society today, while at the same time working to contribute toward the development of healthcare and healthy human lives. One of these issues is “Environmental Consideration", and we have been taking a proactive approach toward promoting environmental friendliness in product life cycles, while making efforts to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.

In this time, Sysmex celebrated its 50th anniversary of establishment. To coincide with the formulation of the new long-term management goals for the Sysmex Group, we formulated “Sysmex Eco-Vision 2025”. These set forth the long-term environmental vision that Sysmex Group aims to attain by 2025, and requires us to promote environmental conservation more than ever throughout the product/service life cycle and across the entire value chain of our business activities.

In order to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, Sysmex will unite as one to ensure we carry out initiatives geared toward achieving the objectives laid out in the Sysmex Eco-Vision 2025.
