Sysmex to Convert Company in Taiwan to Wholly Owned Subsidiary and Reinforce Sales and Support Services
Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; President: Hisashi Ietsugu) today announced plans to convert a company in Taiwan to a wholly owned subsidiary as part of its "Focus on Asia" strategy. The Taipei-based company will commence sales and support activities in October 2011.
Taiwan has continued to grow steadily since the 1990s, centering on the IT industry. The country introduced a nationwide healthcare system in 1995, meeting demand to raise its level of healthcare and the quality of healthcare services. However, a 2002 revision to the system of payment for healthcare expenses put a cap on medical fees that could be charged by individual healthcare institutions. As a result, healthcare professionals now face increasingly diverse needs as they seek to meet the call for healthcare services that are more efficient, as well as of higher quality.
Sysmex has conducted sales and support activities in Taiwan since 2000, when it established a joint venture in the country with a local distributor. Owing to the success of these efforts, Sysmex has earned a high share of the market in its mainstay field of hematology, as well as in the areas of hemostasis and urinalysis.
From October 1, 2011, Sysmex will reinforce its sales and support activities through a new structure centered on a wholly owned subsidiary. Leveraging the solid relationship that it has built up with its local distributor, through the new subsidiary Sysmex will redouble its efforts to determine local market needs and enhance customer satisfaction. The Company plans to advance its sales and support activities and bolster market awareness by expanding its scientific seminars-one of Sysmex's strengths.
Going forward, Sysmex plans to contribute to the advancement of healthcare in Asia by strengthening its sales and support networks and raising awareness through scientific seminars.
