What is the Human Capital Survey?

The Human Capital Survey is designed around the theme of “promoting essential efforts toward greater corporate value” and assesses public and private companies and organizations based on the results of the survey. Benchmarked against the Ito Report on Human Capital Management 2.0 (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and the Guidelines for Human Capital Visualization (Cabinet Office), it is an extensive survey that evaluates how much each respondent practices human capital management that leads to greater corporate value. Based on the results of the survey, companies and organizations that have scored proportionally higher in their efforts are awarded with Human Capital Management Quality Gold/Silver.
Data from this survey is used to study businesses’ efforts toward human capital management to raise corporate value. Moreover, companies selected for their excellence and their actions are widely publicized. The survey also aims to help establish efforts toward human capital management and the disclosure thereof as a customary practice at companies and organizations in Japan, in the hope that they will continue to develop.

What Sysmex does for human capital management

Sysmex has in place human capital strategies, along with business and technological strategies, as part of its overall management strategies. To develop its human capital strategies, Sysmex considers human capital management in terms of input, throughput, and output, and sets value-added productivity* as the key KPI for output. This KPI is also applied to the calculation of bonuses for employees, which has served as an incentive across the company to boost added value and productivity. Moreover, we have set detailed KPIs for human capital to conduct monthly or biannual monitoring according to the characteristics of each KPI in order to stay up to date on what is happening in the company and to take timely and appropriate measures.
In recent years, with our business globalizing and our portfolio rapidly diversifying, we have been focusing on hiring and training highly skilled professionals and next-generation leaders. We have included in our medium- to long-term management plan various actions designed to facilitate mutual respect among employees with diverse backgrounds, and to ensure that they will maximize their full potential.
These actions have been communicated to diverse stakeholders through the annual Sysmex Reports (Integrated Reports) and Sysmex Sustainability Data Book.

Sysmex aims to continue expanding the effective use of our human resource management system across the Group, thereby creating work environments that enable more employees to build successful careers over a long term.
