Sysmex America, Inc. and Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. Reach Distribution Agreement for the Promotion of the Urinalysis Business in North America
Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; Chairman and CEO: Hisashi Ietsugu) announced that on July 30, 2020, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. (Location: New York, USA; hereinafter, "Siemens") and Sysmex America, Inc. (Location: Illinois, USA; hereinafter, "Sysmex America"), a U.S. subsidiary of Sysmex, signed a distribution agreement that gives Sysmex America an exclusive right to distribute Siemens' urine chemistry analyzers and their reagents for hospital and reference laboratory use in the North American market, with a view to adding further impetus to Sysmex's urinalysis business in North America.
This agreement allows Sysmex America to realize an efficient workflow in the urinalysis field by providing solutions that combine their fully automated analyzers of formed elements in urine and fully automated imaging units for formed elements in urine with Siemens' automated urine chemistry analyzers and reagents.
On a related note, on August 1, 2020, Sysmex America began stepping up its sales activities in the North American urinalysis market through the robust sales and support network that it has built up for the hematology business there. Meanwhile, Sysmex America remains committed to providing comprehensive support to existing customers and is planning to progressively extend this coverage to users of Siemens products as well.
