Sysmex Selected for Inclusion in the Asia Pacific Index of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for Second Consecutive Year

Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; Chairman and CEO: Hisashi Ietsugu) announces that it has been selected for inclusion in the Asia Pacific Index of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), a leading global index of socially responsible investment, for the second consecutive year.

DJSI is an index developed through collaboration between S&P Dow Jones Indices1 of the United States and Robeco SAM2, a Swiss research specialist in the area of socially responsible investment. The index evaluates companies from three perspectives: the economy, the environment and society. Companies evaluated as having superior sustainability are selected for inclusion in the index.
Members of the Asia Pacific Index include excellent companies selected from among leading corporations in the Asia Pacific region. In fiscal 2013, this index included 152 companies, 68 of which were Japanese.

In April 2013, Sysmex formulated a CSR-related mid-term plan (fiscal 2013-2015). In addition, Sysmex has established CSR targets and objectives based on its pledge to uphold the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact, as well as ISO 26000, the international standard for corporate responsibility, and works toward these objectives on a daily basis.
DJSI's selection of Sysmex for inclusion in the Asia Pacific Index indicates the high regard in which the Company's activities are held. Selection for a second consecutive year indicates that DJSI considers Sysmex one of the excellent companies in the Asia Pacific region.

Going forward, Sysmex will continue to aggressively promote CSR activities in its aim of achieving ongoing sustainable growth.
