As concerns for environmental issues are growing ever higher, everyone at Sysmex is convinced that playing a role in society and making every effort to maintain the environment is an essential and integral part of our goal of contributing to the long-term health and well being of the global society. Environmental protection is one of the top priorities of our corporate mission.
After Sysmex set its standards high by determining to win certificates of compliance with the relevant environmental standards of ISO in September 1998, an EMS (Environmental Management System) creation project was launched. The project called for a system in which the whole corporate organization could systematically work together in environmental protection activities, beginning with the production factories. And this move to win such certificates was subsequently followed by our affiliates too.
The first fruits of such efforts were born by our Kakogawa
Factory (located in Kakogawa, Hyogo Prefecture), our major
equipment production base, when it obtained ISO 14001 certification
in April 2000. This was followed by our major reagents factory
in February 2001, the Ono Factory (located in Ono, Hyogo Prefecture),
and by two of our affiliates, SYSMEX LOGISTICS CO.,LTD. (headquartered
in Ono, Hyogo Prefecture) and MEDICA CO.,LTD. (headquartered
in Yumesaki-cho, Hyogo Prefecture), in March of the same year.
Furthermore, in February 2002, our head office (Kobe, Hyogo)
and the Technopark, which conducts R&D activities and
publishes scientific information, achieved ISO 14001 certification. |
