Technopark Festa
In celebration of the opening of our new R&D core Technopark, we invited community residents to Technopark Festa in November 2008.
Full of fun events, including a Technopark tour, tea ceremony, products exhibition, kids' marathon, walk rally, and kids' play zone, the festival was attended by more than 550 visitors from the local community.
The Animal Sponsor Program at the Kobe Oji Zoo in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan
The program invites individuals and businesses to support the zoo by sponsoring a specific species of animal at the institution. We elected to support the giant pandas, among the most popular of the zoo's inhabitants. Hyogo Prefecture, location of the Kobe Oji Zoo, is home to Sysmex's headquarters, factories and R&D centers. Our decision to participate in the zoo sponsor program is motivated by a desire to give something back to its home community, whose assistance has been indispensable to our success and growth.
Inviting Children to Visit their Parents' Workplace in Japan

Every year, Sysmex Corporation invites the children of its employees to take the opportunity of touring their parents' company at its customer support hub Solution Center.
In fiscal 2008, eight children from five families joined the program, visiting the show room, conference room, offices, etc.

Hosting a Field Trip for Students in Singapore

Every year, Sysmex Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. (Singapore) hosts a field trip for graduating students of a local technical school.
More than 50 students joined the February 2009 trip, which included lectures on state-of-the-art technologies and first-hand experience using testing instruments.

Sysmex America Participated in a Fund Raising Event to Fight Cancer
Relay For Life
In June 2008, Sysmex America, Inc. joined "Relay For Life," an event to support people in the fight against cancer. For up to 24 hours, participants take turns walking the course, encouraging those who are battling cancer and their families and remembering those who have been lost to the disease. This overnight event takes place across the globe.
Sysmex America participated in this event in Mundelein, IL, and donated approximately 3,000 dollars.
Supporting Local High School Students in the U.S.A.
Sysmex America is an active member of the "Aim High: Urban Mentoring Initiative," a program organized by the non-profit organization Companies That Care, which was established to inspire employers to encourage volunteer activities among their employees.
Sysmex America's employees serve as advisors to students at local high schools and continue to support them financially.
Germany
Charity Jogging Event in Germany
Charity jogging
Since 2005, Sysmex Europe GmbH has been a regular participant in a charity jogging event organized by a local bank in Germany.
For every one kilometer by each runner, one euro is donated to support junior athletes. In 2008, 25 employees from the European subsidiary jogged for the cause.
