Sysmex Suppliers Conference in Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Founding
Sysmex Suppliers Conference
In fiscal 2008, we held a "Sysmex Suppliers Conference in Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Founding." Over 100 visitors from Japanese suppliers took advantage of the occasion to visit our new R&D core Technopark, attend briefings on our business activities and R&D structure, and hear special lectures given by outside speakers.
At the briefings, we provided explanations of the business environment in which we find ourselves and our R&D concept in the post-40th-anniversary era, thereby laying the foundations for mutually beneficial partnerships.
Joining Forces to Improve the Quality of Supplied Parts and Raw Materials
In order to supply top quality products to customers in a stable manner, Sysmex works closely with its suppliers to improve the quality of supplied parts and raw materials.
While providing suppliers with a checklist by which they can self-examine their own quality management systems, Sysmex send its Procurement and Quality Management members to suppliers' manufacturing plants to assist them in improving quality on the shop floor.
Strengthening Partnerships in Technological Development
With the aim of consolidating partnerships with suppliers in the area of technological development, Sysmex Corporation holds "Technology Seminars," where suppliers are invited to present their unique technologies and products.
In fiscal 2008, we held five such seminars by inviting suppliers of optical parts and immunochemistry reagents.
Working with Alliance Partners
Sysmex strives to foster communications with alliance partners the world over.
Through close cooperation with alliance partners across the globe, we tap into our respective strengths to advance its sales and support and R&D, thus meeting diverse demands from customers around the world.
In order to deepen communications with our partners, each year we invite over 200 people from our overseas alliance partners, distributors, and medical institutions to visit us here in Japan. They are briefed on our management policies and R&D concepts, and are given a tour of our business units, as well as hospitals and commercial laboratories in Japan.

Forging Friendly Relationships with Distributors
Top Priority Given to Compliance
Sysmex rigorously ensures compliance, which forms the basis of a sustainable and fruitful partnership with distributors.
Sysmex Corporation obliges its employees to not abuse a dominant bargaining position, offer excessive entertainments and presents, etc. when dealing with distributors. In fiscal 2008, we tightened our drive to prevent corruption by establishing a Promotion Code and formed a Fair Trade Promotion Committee to maintain fair trade throughout the entire Group. In addition, a division dedicated to the promotion of compliance has been established within the sales function. Also, employees at our branch offices and sales offices have been given training on “fair trade” and “appropriate relationships with public servants.”
Meanwhile, we take advantage of the opportunities presented by product briefings, which are given at new launches, as well as other occasions, to share our policies and activities with our distributors, so as to help them to deepen their understanding of the importance of compliance. |
