OSNA (One-step Nucleic Acid Amplification) is a technology of rapidly amplifying genes (mRNA) without extracting it from living tissue and purifying it. OSNA enables 30-minute genetic testing in contrast to the 3 hours or so needed for the conventional method. Sysmex is applying this technology in research and development of a rapid and convenient test for lymph node metastasis. Testing for lymph node metastasis is important for deciding surgical and therapeutic strategies for cancer. OSNA enables high-sensitivity detection of cancer cells in lymph nodes within a limited time, such as during a surgical procedure. |
