SYSMEX CORPORATION

  Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; President: Hisashi Ietsugu) has decided to establish a subsidiary, Sysmex Vietnam Company Limited, in order to enforce its setup for sales and support in Vietnam. It plans to open the office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's biggest city, in March 2010, and to commence sales and support activities for diagnostic instruments, reagents, and laboratory information systems mainly in the central and southern parts of the country in April . Vietnam is achieving some of the high rates of growth in all of Asia, where improvements to the medical environment are moving ahead, and Sysmex is committed to constructing a system for sales and provision of support directly to customers in the Vietnamese market.

  Over the last five years, Vietnam recorded average annual GDP high growth rates in excess of 7 percent of all Asian countries. Hanoi, the national capital, in the north and Ho Chi Minh City in the south are at the center of its economic activities. The latter is Vietnam's most populous city and is further developing as its commercial metropolis.
  In the medical sector, the service environment is being improved along with economic growth. In the field of diagnostics, there are rising needs for instruments with more sophisticated analytical capabilities, and more new instruments are being introduced.

  Sysmex established a representative office in Hanoi in 2000, and has since been developing its business through local distributors, chiefly in the north. Its products have been given high marks by customers in this business. It nevertheless decided to establish a Vietnamese subsidiary in order to deliver the technical know-how and solutions it has accumulated thus far to a wider circle of customers, and to cope more promptly with the diversifying needs in the market.
  While supporting the local distributors in the north, the newly established Sysmex Vietnam will engage in activities of sales and support directly for customers in the central and southern parts, and propose solutions linked to a further improvement of diagnostic examinations and higher efficiency in the related work. The plans envision a subsequent phased expansion of its activities into the northern part of the country.
  Sysmex Vietnam and the local distributors are going to collaborate in the construction of a sales and support network that covers the entire country. They intend to utilize this network to facilitate wider penetration of the Sysmex brand while contributing to the further advancement of medical services in Vietnam.
