Sysmex | Announcement of Organizational and Personnel Changes

Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; president: Hisashi Ietsugu) announced today the decision for organizational and personnel change, effective April 1, 2009, as detailed below.

The company hopes that this decision will help us to strengthen the functions of Group Head Office as we expand our operations, pursue excellence in product development in order to meet increasingly diverse customer demands, and reinforce our businesses in Japan.

1. Organizational Changes
(1) Strengthen functions of Group Head Office
	a)	Reorganization of Administration
		Corporate Business Administration and Human Resources & General Affairs will take over and reinforce those functions for which Administration was previously responsible. In order to reinforce the Group's business administration functions, Corporate Business Administration Div. (transferred from Corporate Business Planning), Accounting Div. and Finance Div. (newly established) will be placed under Corporate Business Administration. Under Human Resources & General Affairs, Human Resources Development Div. (formerly Associates Learning Center) will enhance human resources development and Facility Management Div. (formerly Technopark Administration Div.） will promote efficient facility management.
	b)	Integration of CSR promotion and initiatives to protect the environment
		In order to enhance the Group's efforts to protect the environment, these will be integrated into CSR promotion efforts under CSR Promotion Div.
(2)Promote new business development
		In order to reinforce new business research and development, New Business Development Div., which previously belonged to New Business Development along with Scientific Instrumentation Business Div., will be integrated into IVD Business Development. With this move, New Business Development will be reorganized as Scientific Instrumentation Business and specialize in this business field.
(3)Strengthen manufacturing
	a)	Establishment of Applied Research Div. at Central Research Laboratories
		In order to expedite the transfer of research results from Central Research Laboratories to product development, Applied Research Div. will be established.
	b)	Establishment of Manufacturing Management
		Manufacturing management functions of the Group companies will be made independent and set up as Manufacturing Management in order to strengthen technological capabilities and promote technological assistance to reagent factories on a global basis. With this move, departments under Manufacturing which were previously responsible for instrument production will be consolidated and renamed Instrument Production.
(4)Strengthen businesses in Japan
	a)	Reinforcement of the roles of Business Management (Japan)
		Sales & Marketing will be renamed Business Management (Japan) with a view to developing businesses strategy in Japan including those of domestic affiliates.
	b)	Establishment of Consulting & Promotion Div.
		Consulting & Promotion Div. will be established at Sales & Marketing East/Japan in order to consolidate and strengthen solution proposal activities targeting major medical institutes and other sales & marketing activities targeting group accounts, major commercial laboratories and major distributors.
