On November 22, 2008, Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; President: Hisashi Ietsugu) concluded an internship program contract with the Moscow State University (M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Department of Global Politics).
In accordance with this contract, Sysmex is going to accept trainees from Moscow State University, one of the top universities in the Russian Federation, which is expected to make great strides over the coming years. Through the program, Sysmex intends to deepen human interchange and its understanding of the market in Russia, and link this to a future expansion of its business there.

Recent years have seen an improvement of the social infrastructure and medical service environment in emerging countries along with their economic advancement, and such countries' demand for testing is growing in the process. Russia in particular is striving to condition its medical infrastructure and raise the quality of its medical services under a medium-to-long-term plan that has the status of a national project. This points to a substantial expansion of activities in the diagnostics field.

Sysmex opened a representative office in Moscow in 2005, and is bolstering its support for distributors in Russia. Since 2007, it has accepted students of Moscow State University under a limited-term internship program, in the belief that a better understanding of the market and business environment and a buildup of its human network are indispensable for further extending its business in the rapidly growing Russian market.
The conclusion of the aforementioned contract arose out of a concurrence between the University policy of assisting human resource development through training at global firms and of providing practical opportunities to students interested in studying the Japanese language and culture, and Sysmex's own desire to acquire a deeper understanding of Russia.
