Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; President: Hisashi Ietsugu) begin selling HISCL-2000i and related reagents in October 2007. A fully automated immunoassay analyzer, HISCL-2000i has the highest sensitivity and measurement speed among all types of equipment used for immunochemistry testing at medium-sized hospitals. This new test platform will help to alleviate the burden on patients and improve test quality and efficiency.

Immunochemistry tests are conducted chiefly on blood samples to examine the presence or absence of infectious diseases, cancer, heart ailments, and autoimmune diseases, they are performed for a wide range of procedures, from health examinations to post-treatment observation of progress. As such, they play an important role in the early detection and treatment of disease. The annual worldwide market for immunochemistry testing reportedly amounts to about 700 billion yen, or a quarter of the entire diagnostics market.
Ever since entering the immunochemistry field in 1987, we have been offering our PAMIA series, which applies an original assay principle that enables swift measurement, and our ELSIA series*, for infectious diseases. *ELSIA series were sold by International Reagents Co., Ltd (at that time).
The newly marketed HISCL-2000i applies the chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay (CLEIA) methodology, which is the mainstream assay principle for immunochemistry testing. The fusion of this methodology with our distinctive technology has made it possible to attain the highest levels of sensitivity and speed of all the equipment designed for immunochemistry testing at medium-sized hospitals. In such testing, which is conducted on various occasions in the provision of medical services, HISCL-2000i will help to increase test precision, reduce specimen quantities, and shorten the testing time required.
For Sysmex, HISCL-2000i is a new platform for immunochemistry testing. We intend to promote its diffusion in the Japanese market, augment the range of available reagents, and thereby assist efforts to alleviate the burden on patients and enhance quality and efficiency while expanding our share of the market in the field of immunochemistry testing.
