Sysmex Establishes Subsidiary in the Philippines Direct Sales and Support to Commence in Manila Metro Area in April 2011
- Subsidiaries now established in each of the six major ASEAN countries -
Sysmex Corporation (HQ: Kobe, Japan; President: Hisashi Ietsugu) established Sysmex Philippines Inc. to reinforce its sales and support structure in the Philippines. This subsidiary will commence direct sales and support in the Manila metropolitan area on April 1, 2011.
The quality of healthcare in the Philippines, one of the six major ASEAN countries (which also include Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) is improving, in tandem with the economic growth and rising living standards the country has experienced in recent years. This trend is expected to accelerate, as the national leadership, elected last year, intends to make government healthcare improvement a priority.
In August 2000, Sysmex established a representative office in Quezon City (National Capital Region / Metro Manila), through which the Company has provided support to its distributors and conducted scientific seminars in the Philippines. Particularly in hematology, its mainstay business domain, Sysmex’s distributor-based sales and support activities have enabled the Company to earn a high share of the local market.
The rising quality of healthcare in urban areas is driving demand for instruments with more sophisticated analytical capabilities.
On September 30, 2010, Sysmex established a subsidiary in Quezon City to respond more quickly to an increasingly diverse market demand, as well as to expand its market share in existing and new business domains.
The subsidiary, which currently is laying the groundwork for the new structure, will begin providing sales and support services directly to customers in Manila and the surrounding metropolitan region on April 1, 2011, leveraging the expertise and solutions it has cultivated to date. Outside the Manila metropolitan area, we will provide sales and support services through our network of local distributors.
This development in the Philippines concludes Sysmex’s efforts to establish subsidiaries in each of the six major ASEAN countries. By enhancing our sales and support network in this manner, we have positioned ourselves to benefit from ongoing economic development in the Asia-Pacific region. Going forward, Sysmex plans to reinforce its sales and support structure and advance its efforts to raise awareness by holding scientific seminars, thereby contributing to emerging market development.
